A partnership between NFWF and North Jersey RC&D has produced a Agricultural Conservation Planning tool (attached). The goal was put together a form that conservation minded staff and volunteers, of varying backgrounds in farming and agricultural, could use to survey producers about their operation, resource conditions, and concerns. The form is designed to be easy for anyone to use and includes suggested follow up questions and additional information about specific agricultural practices where necessary. Simultaneously, it aims to focus on the producer's needs, in a friendly and approachable manner, rather than emphasizing environmental best management practices that they should implement. After completed, this form could be used, in conjunction with NRCS and other agencies, to recommend conservation programs appropriate for the producer.
