RFN-NJ Farmer Network Tour: Duke Farms

Tour Description:  Join us for an RFN-NJ Farmer Network Tour led by Grazing Program Manager, Lauren Salvatore. Lauren will take us around the Duke Farms livestock operation that is focused first and foremost on conservation. She will discuss managing a cow/calf operation and ways to manage for grassland bird habitat. 

Celia Vuocolo of NJ Audubon will discuss programs available to farmers for grassland bird and wildlife habitat.

Bryce Cotton of Cotton Cattle Company will discuss grass-fed genetics and what it takes to produce great grass-fed beef. 

Learn about the partnership between Duke Farms and Cotton Cattle Company: Duke Farms operates the cow/calf operation and gets bulls from Cotton Cattle Co; Cotton Cattle Co. does the finishing and sells the product through their market. 

This will primarliy be a walking tour, but guests may be able to drive between sites by vehicle if long walking distances are not possible. Please let us know in advance if you will need this option so we can plan accordingly.

The event will be from 3-6pm. Registration table will open at 2:30pm. Carpooling is encouraged when feasible to accomodate for parking.
