RFN-NJ Farmer Network Tour: Lima Family Farms - Poutry Processing and Winter Production

Tour Description:  Join us for an RFN-NJ Farmer Network Tour. We'll take a look at Lima Family Farms' processing facility and winter production for meat birds.

Times are subject to change:

9:30am. We'll meet in front of the Lima Family Farms farm store and carpool in a few vehicles over to the processing facility down the road. Parking is extremely limited at the processing facility so carpooling is necessary.

~10 to 11/11:30am. We'll take a look at the poultry side of the processing facility. The same principles apply whether you're interested in a small-scale, outdoor setup or a larger processing operation. Please note that photography or recordings will not be allowed during this portion.

~11:30am to 12:30am. Head back over to the farm store and learn about how Lima Family Farms raises broilers through the winter from chicks. Anyone staying for this portion will be asked to put on plastic…
